The DataLion alternative to LamaPoll
LamaPoll collects securely and GDPR-compliant — and does it well. But the moment responses need to become crosstabs, trackers and finished decks, it stops. That's exactly where DataLion starts — analysis, dashboards and PowerPoint in one platform.
LamaPoll is a German, ISO 27001-certified survey tool — strong at privacy-compliant fieldwork with per-question results. But for crosstabs, weighting, significance tests and tracker dashboards you export to a separate tool. DataLion is exactly that analysis layer and imports LamaPoll's coded SPSS/CSV export including labels.
DataLion vs LamaPoll at a glance
On data protection there is nothing between them — both German and ISO 27001. The difference is purely the analysis after collection.
| DataLion | LamaPoll | |
|---|---|---|
| Role | Analysis, dashboard & reporting platform (also collects) | Survey/collection tool with basic evaluation |
| Analysis | Crosstabs, weighting, significance tests, 50+ charts | Per-question frequencies, tables & charts, filters by status/attributes |
| Tracking dashboards | Auto-updating, wave over wave | Built for individual surveys |
| PowerPoint reports | Natively editable, in your own CI, automated | Aggregate-results export to PowerPoint/Excel/Word (basic) |
| Data hand-off | Imports LamaPoll's coded export incl. labels | Coded raw-data export: SPSS, CSV, TXT |
| Data protection | ISO 27001 data centers in DE, DPA, on-premise | Itself ISO 27001-certified, BSI-tested, servers in DE |

Fieldwork and basic results — analysis happens elsewhere
LamaPoll takes you from questionnaire through invitations to evaluation: you get per-question frequencies, tables and charts, can filter by status (completed/started) or attributes, and export raw data coded as SPSS, CSV or TXT, with aggregate results to Excel, Word or PowerPoint.
Anything beyond that — crosstabs across questions, weighting, significance tests, net/top-box values — traditionally happens in a separate analysis tool. That is exactly the layer DataLion adds, without shuttling data between tools.
- LamaPoll: per-question frequencies, tables & charts, filters by status/attributes
- LamaPoll: coded raw-data export (SPSS/CSV/TXT) for external statistics
- DataLion: crosstabs, weighting, significance tests & net/top-box in-tool
- DataLion: 50+ chart types and auto-updating dashboards
From the LamaPoll export to an auto-updating dashboard
Because LamaPoll already exports raw data coded with variables and value labels (SPSS/CSV), the import into DataLion is clean: AI-assisted data recognition handles the codebook mapping, and multi-response and scales are preserved.
From there you build weighted crosstabs, significance tests and tracker dashboards that refresh wave over wave automatically — and export natively editable PowerPoint in your own CI, instead of transferring result charts one by one.
- Clean import of the coded LamaPoll export incl. labels
- Weighting, significance and net values at the click of a button
- Auto-updating tracker dashboards across waves
- Natively editable PowerPoint instead of single-chart export
Data protection is not the difference here
Honestly: on data protection there is nothing between them. LamaPoll is itself ISO/IEC 27001-certified, BSI-tested and hosts on German servers. DataLion hosts in ISO 27001-certified data centers in Germany (DPA included, on-premise possible) — DataLion as a product is not itself certified; the data centers are.
So the reason to add DataLion is not privacy, but the depth of analysis after collection.
