Dealer Satisfaction Survey (DSI) – questionnaire preview

Dealers and service partners are customers who are also your sales force. When they are dissatisfied you notice it in falling orders, long before anyone terminates. This template asks about eleven aspects of the partnership, from model range through margins and delivery times to field support and dealer systems. Three questions carry the index: overall satisfaction, profitability and whether the partner would sign the contract again today. The role in the business (owner, sales manager, service manager) is deliberately a filter question, because owners rate the margins and service managers the parts supply. A URL parameter per country or region produces the network comparison without asking which business it is.

When should you use this template?

This template is a great fit for:

  • Annually to all sales and service partners, with invitation and reminder from the fieldwork module
  • As a baseline before launching a new dealer portal or bonus scheme
  • Twice a year as a short version (overall satisfaction, profitability, NPS) per region
  • As the standard questionnaire in all countries, with AI translation into local languages

From questionnaire to dashboard

The questionnaire produces a dashboard for sales management and regional leads:

  • Satisfaction per region: Eleven aspects against regions as a heatmap: where delivery times are the problem and where field support is.
  • DSI across waves: The index as a time series per region. You see whether the new bonus scheme changed anything.
  • Dealer NPS and re-signing: Promoters, passives and detractors next to who would sign the contract again. The two numbers for the board.

Frequently asked questions

How do we build a Dealer Satisfaction Index from the questions?
The usual DSI is the mean of the satisfaction matrix rescaled to 0 to 100, often weighted with overall satisfaction. In DataLion you set it up once as a computed metric; after that it is available per region, per country and per wave in every chart and export. If you prefer a driver analysis, you compute the importance of the aspects from the data instead of asking for it.
How does each regional manager see only their own dealers?
Through access profiles with a fixed filter. A profile per region shows the pre-filtered slice; head office sees all regions side by side and can run significance tests where the difference has to hold up. The dealers themselves stay anonymous: DataLion stores neither IP address nor contact details with a response.
We survey in twelve countries. Do we need twelve questionnaires?
Yes, one survey per language, and the datasets are combined for analysis. The survey controls appear automatically in six languages; the question texts you translate yourself or bring into the project with AI translation. A single multilingual questionnaire is not possible at present.
